Hockey. A favourite Canadian pastime for many. I never played myself but my brothers and cousins all did. I grew up in a rink, yelling at referees; likely teenagers just trying to earn a few bucks.
Hockey Night in Canada was always on in my house. It was no secret that Boxing Day was a special day. Not because there were big sales at the Quinte Mall in Belleville (I grew up in Prince Edward County so Belleville was the ‘big city’) but because Boxing Day was the day the World Junior Hockey Championship started.
As I am writing this, Canada is getting ready to take on the Czech Republic in the semi-finals. I have so much faith that they will win this game and go for gold tomorrow, I figured I would write this blog and share with you my journal entries for the last three years.
I have this neat journal that only has enough room for one or two sentences a day. Anyone can do that, right?! Well apparently January 5th, medal day at the World Junior Hockey Championship, is well documented in my ‘diary’. And we haven’t won gold since 2015 when I started this thing!
I hope later tonight I can write something along the lines of: GOLD FOR CANADA!!! Canada beats Sweden 4-2 to win the World Juniors!
Just my prediction!
LETS DO THIS!!
GO CANADA GO!!!!!
