I’m just going to go ahead and say it – Summer 2017 sucks. So far it’s been a total bummer.
Think about it – May and June were rained out, which led to flooding and closures at popular beaches like Sandbanks and Wolfe Island’s Big Sandy Bay.
There was even a case of a woman falling into quicksand! Have you ever heard of quicksand in real life? I thought it was only in Indiana Jones movies.
The flooding also turned the whole area into one big mosquito breeding ground, and we’re seeing a new species of tick called the Lonestar Tick. Sounds like a rootin’ tootin’ tick, but definitely not something you want around.
After you search your body for ticks you’ll probably be ready for a beer and some barbecue, but even THAT isn’t safe – Health Canada is warning that metal bristles can break off your BBQ brush and end up in your food.
And that’s going to hurt in the morning.
Is this the worst summer ever or can it still be salvaged?
There’s only a month and a half left, get out there and make the most of it!
