Should you be able to trademark a HAND GESTURE?
Gene Simmons from Kiss claims he invented the DEVIL HORNS in 1974 and other artists started copying him, so he’s trying to register it with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office so it would be for his use during personal appearances only.
Hopefully they’ll have a different hand gesture they can give him
I guess Gene’s never heard of GOOGLE because it’s easy to trace the devils horns back as far as Buddha, apparently
He’s not even the first rock star to use them – John Lennon’s pictured doing the devil horns on the Beatles Yellow Submarine single from 1966!
And other rockers like Ronnie James Dio have become well known for throwing them
But don’t let a little thing like facts get in the way, Gene – we should probably have to shell out some cash every time we throw up devil horns at a concert.
Did you invent sticking out your tongue too? What about face paint? Gene Simmons needs to get paid.
