Where should you just NOT talk on your phone? I was in the waiting room at the DOCTOR’S OFFICE the other day and heard TWO very aggressive cell phone conversations. One woman was complaining about how long it was taking to see the doctor and another guy was yelling something about starting a fight (apparently the person on the other end had accused him of stealing his drugs and sleeping with his girlfriend) so, yeah.
Isn’t any place sacred any more?? Aren’t there some places where we as a civilized society can come together and just agree to NOT talk on our phones? Let’s start a list.
THE DOCTOR’S OFFICE: Because no one wants to be there and if they’re going in for something awkward you’re just making it worse
PUBLIC TRANSIT: Not everyone on the bus or train wants to hear your conversation (or at least HALF of it) and you’ll probably miss your stop.
PUBLIC WASHROOMS/CHANGEROOMS: This will get your gym membership revoked! Don’t be a lurkey-loo having a Facetime conversation while people are doing their business around you.
SPORTING EVENTS: You probably spent a lot on the ticket, so watch the game! Also this can happen
AT A RESTAURANT: If you’re on the phone while the server is trying to take your order they are not liable for any mixup. Focus!
ON YOUR BIKE: You’d be surprised how many cyclists talk on their phones, almost careening into other bikes. Don’t do it!
THE GYM: If you’re on the treadmill with a Starbucks and your phone you’re not really working out so get out of the way! The people around you are trying to get ripped.
GAS STATION: You’re a fire hazard, apparently.
AT A FUNERAL: Talking loudly during the wake? Selfie with the casket? Not cool.
DURING SEXY TIME: Unless it’s an emergency this will get you kicked out of bed, and no more sexy time.
