These days we’re told to do a lot of things and there’s always an excuse.
I would, but I don’t have time to cook proper meals.
I would, but I don’t have money for a gym membership and it’s too cold outside.
“Be kind to others”
Wait… what’s your excuse for not doing that?
I don’t mean to get preachy, but being kind doesn’t take time or money or any sort of means at all.
It’s good for you and it’s good for others.
I mean, have you ever actually felt taller by making someone else feel small? I haven’t.
A lot of people think Pink Shirt Day is “just for the kids”. Well, adults are bullied too and I think we have a responsibility to set the example.
In the past, we’ve used Pink Shirt Day to talk about anti-bullying and stopping the negative behavior.
Today, let’s talk about starting a behavior.
Maybe you can’t stop other people from being mean and negative and putting people down.
But you can practice kindness, generosity and compassion.
So, hey… maybe we can work on that today! And everyday.
That’s what I challenge you to do. Be kind.
