The awards for worst aunt and uncle are being handed out today, by me.
Last week, an aunt from Elliot Lake was stopped by Kingston Police for speeding on Front Road. Officers spotted her vehicle speeding and drifting in and out of the lane, and they stopped her near Lake Ontario Park. She claimed she was teaching her 15-year old niece how to drive. Then she blew twice the legal limit.
So she gets the worst aunt award and the worst uncle award goes to the 63-year old Kingston man, who also blew two times the legal limit but he wasn’t pulled over for speeding. He was caught after he rear-ended his nephew’s vehicle! His nephew was stopped at a red light on Princess St at Sydenham Road at 5:30pm on Saturday when he was struck from behind. He got out to see what had happened and found his uncle intoxicated behind the wheel.
Thanksgiving should be fun for these families this year!
