This might be a tough one for some people.
Is your dog or your baby more loveable?
Researchers have found that whether or not you want to admit it, you likely find your dog more lovable… if you’re a woman at least.
They did a study on a group of woman who had at least one child aged 2-10 as well as a dog.
What they found was women in the study had very similar brain activity when looking at photos of their child and photos of their dog.
There was even one part of the brain that had a higher response to images of the woman’s dog rather than their child.
To me, this makes sense.
I mean, babies are wonderful gifts for many families. But they turn into toddlers… and teenagers… and adults. They don’t always make it easy to love them. I think that’s the key.
Dogs love you unconditionally. If you make a mistake, they don’t hold it against you. They don’t talk back. They greet you everytime you come home. They don’t ask to borrow the car or get a tattoo. Sure, maybe they have a few accidents now and then… but I think overall, dogs are more lovable.
Doesn’t mean you love your baby or child any less!
What do you think?
