Corey Feldman is upset with the public’s reaction to his latest performance. On Friday morning, Corey Feldman and the Angels performed a song from his fifth album ‘Angelic 2 the Core’ on the Today Show, and the internet went crazy!
There are people out there who are going to love this and others who will hate it. Personally, I wouldn’t put it on and groove to it because it’s just not my thing. His album cover also looks like something I would make in Microsoft Paint. That is my opinion and everyone out there is entitled to theirs, positive or negative.
But Feldman only wants to hear the positive. He says he’s not been able to get out of bed since his performance went viral on Friday. In a since-deleted Facebook Live post, Feldman addressed the critics, calling them bullies.
“Public shaming should not be accepted, no matter who you are,” he said. “It doesn’t matter if they’re a celebrity or not. We deserve love and we deserve, like, normal life … It’s not okay, it’s not acceptable to call us freaks, weirdos, losers, whatever.”
While I don’t believe people should say unkind things about Feldman because they didn’t like his performance, I do believe they have a right to judge whether or not they liked the song/performance itself. Feldman is a well-known person who has chosen to put himself back in the spotlight, and that always means putting yourself up for praise or ridicule. While he may want to live a normal life, that is not the path he has chosen.
