You know the drill.
You drop a scrumptious piece of food on the floor, snatch it up as quickly as possible, dust it off, blow on it, and you’re good to go… right?
Wrong, according to researchers.
That “5 Second Rule” we’ve been living by is apparently harming us.
But how bad can it be?
In the video below, the expert Fox News brought it says it depends on which bacteria ends up on your morsel of food, and that’s determined by what bacteria your shoes or feet drag into the house.
For example, feces. People walk in it and then it ends up on the floor.
GROSS! That’s what I’m going to think of next time I eat something off the floor, especially at work where lots of people are walking in and out.
Don’t judge me! You’ve done it too, right?
(If you want to jump to that specific answer in the video, it’s around the 1:50 mark)
I still don’t think I’m going to completely ditch the “5 Second Rule”. I’ve been living by it for decades and I’m still doing alright!
