I like to have back-up plans.
For example, if I ruin dinner, there’s cereal in the cupboard.
Or if I’m having a bad hair day, my trusty baseball cap is always ready to go.
But having a back-up plan for your relationship?
Apparently women are more prone to having a back-up plan for their relationship and this is why they end up having affairs.
Scientists at the University of Texas say “humans have evolved to keep testing their relationships and looking for better long-term options” (source).
That statement make sense to me and I think most people also apply that to their careers and other parts of their lives.
But does that lead to affairs?
There’s been some research into our distant ancestors and genetics, but some scientists are convinced women are “genetically programmed to have affairs”.
