There is a new “gold” rush going on over in India, and it doesn’t come out of the ground. The golden frothy goodness we’re talking about comes out of a cow.
Cow urine from female cattle currently fetches at least, if not more, than the milk the cows also produce over in India.
The cows, which are considered sacred by Hindus, produce about 3.5-gallons of this “liquid gold” every day. And people are using it for cleaning products and holistic medicine among other things.
The struggle for farmers? Collecting it. The only way they know how to do it right now is to – no joke – have someone stand around and watch the cows with a bucket waiting for them to pee. So next time you think your job sucks, just remember right now, there is someone in India collecting cow pee, and probably doing a poor job of it.
