Luckily, police were called and they were able to rescue the baby, who is doing just fine now.
It just makes me wonder… was this a case of “mommy brain”? I’ve heard of this before where parents, usually the primary caregiver, gets so run down and exhausted from caring for babies (especially if they’re colicky) that they begin to forget things and do things they don’t mean to do.
Was that to blame? Or am I giving them the benefit of the doubt? Did they actually think it was okay to leave their baby in a hot, locked car while they went into the grocery store?
