The Kingston Fire And Rescue are having their annual “Wake Up Kingston” residential smoke alarm program. This summer and the upcoming fall will see Kingston Fire and Rescue going door-to-door, to check smoke alarms, and educating us on the importance of having a working smoke alarm.
Kingston fore and Rescue will come and and make sure your smoke alarms are working properly. If your missing a smoke alarm or your batteries are dead, Kingston Fire and Rescue will replace it.
Ontario homes are required to have a smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector. A working smoke alarm improves your chances of surviving a residential fire by 50%
NOTE*** All smoke detectors (battery operated or hard wired have a life span of 10 years). If it’s older than 10 get a new one.
