Apparently overhydration is a thing, so if you’re downing litres of water to stay cool these days, be careful. via GIPHY The technical term is “hyponatremia” and it’s described as a low concentration of sodium in the blood that can be dangerous of even life-threatening. via GIPHY How does it happen? Could be simply drinking too much water during exercise. Some medications make you extra thirsty and that can play part. Uncontrolled diabetes could be a factor. And also, psychiatric conditions could lead to compulsive water drinking. via GIPHY Apparently, the rule is no more than one litre of fluid per hour.
