We all have great intentions to exercise every day and eat healthy, but let’s face it, that rarely happens. In an ideal world, getting to the gym daily, and watching what we eat, would be a priority for most of us, but in reality, life gets in the way.
So, what are the things that derail us from our commitment? Well, according to a new survey, the biggest culprit is last minute plan changes, with 40% of people saying they are derailed due to them. Other “derailers” include: work demands (29%), unexpected guests (25%) and travel delays (20%).
And these derailers are affecting a lot of us. Overall, 57% of people say they cause them to make choices they wouldn’t normally make, with women (57%) more likely to admit it than men (52%). And even though all these derailers are legitimate excuses, the majority of folks, 54%, blame themselves for falling off track.
Hey, I never need an excuse to skip the gym…
