With all the sadness and grief in the world right now, I’m so happy I was able to take part in an event this weekend that was filled with smiling faces and love.
The kind of stuff that keeps me going is seeing dozens of smiling faces at the motionball Marathon of Sport at St. Lawrence College on Saturday.
Over $25,000 was raised, which will support Special Olympics athletes in Ontario and Canada – including many from Kingston that we had the privilege of playing sports with on Saturday (you can still donate CLICK HERE for more).
Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever cheered as hard as I did after watching our MVP Nathan score the winning goal in soccer.
I’ve never felt more proud than I did watching Nathan, who after some light-hearted trash talking, still congratulated the opposing team in Bocce ball and gave their MVP Tim the biggest, most genuine hug I’ve ever seen.
And I’ve never felt my smile grow as big as it did from every gigantic hug I got from Nathan.
These athletes are just amazing and I’m so glad we were able to support them.
